Welcome to the Geography Curriculum page

The Head of Faculty is Miss Broderick.

Our Aim: To enable students to enjoy learning Geography in an environment where staff work collaboratively. To deliver a curriculum which provides students with the skills, knowledge, understanding and experiences that helps them to know their local and global contexts place and recognise their role in, and impact on, an ever-changing world.

The priority is on students learning experience, on their engagement, and the progress they make. There is no prescription of teaching styles, creating a framework within which we all have the freedom to teach. To transform material into deep memory by students experiencing low stakes testing through knowledge retrieval starters and activities and students being rigorously assessed through cumulative assessments. To create strategies which intervene and support, aimed at getting back on track those falling behind. Students are aware of targets, current grades and what they need to do to reach their target.

The school’s work to promote pupils’ personal development is exceptional. (Ofsted, May 2025)
