Student Leadership

At John Taylor High School, we believe in developing experiences and skills that complement the academic pursuits of our students.

Student Leadership opportunities are an important aspect of our offering which we encourage our young people to embrace at all stages of their time with us. Such opportunities equip our young people with the knowledge, skills and personal attributes to become successful individuals, through working within the school and wider community. Student Leadership at John Taylor High School takes various forms, with the aim to provide Leadership roles appropriate to many interests. Examples include:

House and School Council, Head Students, House Leaders, Sports Ambassadors, Peer Mentoring, Reader Leaders, Anti-Bullying Committee, Learning Resource Centre Assistants.

John Taylor Student Inclusion Team

The John Taylor Student Inclusion Team is a team of Student Inclusion Leaders, led by a Student Inclusion Head Student.

The Student Inclusion Team’s role is to ensure that all students feel safe and welcome at John Taylor High School and can access all the opportunities that life at John Taylor High School can offer.

The Student Inclusion Team meet weekly, and organise, promote and run initiatives and events that promote inclusion. These include Anti- Bullying week, student Well-Being, celebrating diversity and supporting any of our young people who may need it.

All Student Inclusion Team members are Level One Safeguarding trained, and are also trained in public speaking, budget holding, running successful meetings and working as a team, amongst other Leadership skills.
