Welcome to the Drama Curriculum page

The Head of Faculty is Miss Evans.

Our Aim: To develop students’ appreciation, understanding and enjoyment of drama in order to enrich their lives both now and in the future. To allow students to be creative and experiment with ideas, to nurture aesthetic values and the appreciation of a wide variety of theatrical styles and practitioners from different times and cultures, to enhance the development of students by encouraging critical thinking and an open mind, to stimulate creativity in problem solving, independent learning, curiosity and challenge students’ perceptions about themselves and the world around them, to create challenging learning environments in which students can reflect and respond and explore values, attitudes, feelings and meanings. To encourage empathy and tolerance and the ability to negotiate and evaluate, to offer extracurricular opportunities which allow students to work together to share performance experiences to ensure that all students acquire the knowledge, skills and understanding of drama.

The school’s work to promote pupils’ personal development is exceptional. (Ofsted, May 2025)
