At John Taylor High School we utilise a range of valuable communication channels and platforms for a number of different purposes. We have made the decision that rather than attempt to use one platform for everything but sacrifice functionality or practicality, we would prefer to use the solution that we consider to be the best fit for the required purpose. It is very important that you engage with these platforms and hopefully this brief overview will provide some clarity on each system.
Bromcom & ‘My Child at School’ (MCAS)
Bromcom is our ‘Management Information System’ (MIS) which acts as a database holding all key student information as well as that of their main contacts. The ‘My Child at School’ app directly links to Bromcom and is a valuable tool to send vital communication via email, app messaging and text message. It can also be used to collect/update contact details, complete consent forms and view student timetables and exam timetables when published.

Go4Schools
Go4Schools is our assessment, reporting and homework portal. You can also view student timetables. By logging into this, students and parents will be able to see results of key assessments, current and projected grades and progress reports when published. All homework assignments are set via Go4Schools and students can manage their homework completion accordingly through the app or web-based platform.

Class Charts
Class Charts is our new attendance, achievement and behaviour portal. You will be able to see your child’s attendance records here as well as details of the achievements they have been awarded such as merits. Staff will also record behaviour incidents and allocate detentions in this system. It includes an automatic notification system to further support students and parents.

The School Website & Weekly Newsflash
Our new school website launched successfully last term. It is hoped that it is now a much more user-friendly experience providing easily accessible key information for parents and prospective parents. The ‘Newsflash’ is an integrated section of the school website. It includes an ‘in the news this week’ section and a link to this page will be emailed out to parents every Friday. This will contain key information as well as articles celebrating achievements and experiences from across the school community.

Parents Evening Appointments
Most parents evenings will once again be completed remotely during this academic year using our online system. Appointments will be made online by parents, and you will be notified by email and push notification, when the booking system for your child’s parents evening is open.
