Walking/Cycling – We encourage children to walk or cycle to school as the main mode of transport. If they are cycling to school, the bike must be roadworthy, with lights and a cycle helmet must be worn. Bikes can be stored in our dedicated bike racks on the tennis courts.
Travelling by Car – Should students travel via car, parents/carers should not park on the yellow lines outside of school or at the Bowling Club when dropping off or collecting students. Please find an alternative and safe location elsewhere in the village, to avoid congestion on Dunstall Road.
Travelling by Bus – All bus transport to and from John Taylor High School is via contracted or service buses. Parents should arrange this directly with Staffordshire County Council or Derbyshire County Council. We work closely with the bus companies to share key information regarding any changes to travel arrangements, e.g. snow disruptions, via our website and social media platforms.
Enquiries about eligibility for access to school transport or replacement bus passes should be made directly to Staffordshire County Council or Derbyshire County Council. Should a pupil need a replacement bus pass until their new one arrives, they should visit either the Lower School or Upper School.
General enquiries about the buses services to and from school can be made via the main school reception (01283 247800) or by emailing office@jths.co.uk
There are so many opportunities outside the classroom to get involved in. There are a variety of clubs and trips which I have thoroughly enjoyed taking part in. (Year 11 pupil)
