Become a Partner…
The value that employers bring when they engage with schools is well evidenced. Research shows that young adults who have greater levels of contact with employers whilst at school are significantly less likely to become NEET (not in education, employment or training) and can expect, when in full-time employment, to earn up to 18% more than peers who had no such workplace encounters.
New research shows that engagement not only allows employers to add value to schools and the lives of young people, but that young people and schools in turn give huge value to employers.
Whether an entry-level employee, CEO, entrepreneur, dairy farmer or architect, we are keen to form a partnership with you to provide our students with meaningful encounters with the world of work. It gives our pupils the inspiration to think, ‘if they can do it, so can I’. We have a number of opportunities for you to become involved in such as supporting a school event, present an assembly, deliver a workshop or host some students within your business.
Our current partners include:
Be part of our Work Experience Program…
Year 10 Students – December
The 5-day placement takes place in December and it is an opportunity for learners to experience the world of work first hand. The main objective is for them to gain skills, knowledge and experience of the working day, as well as developing their understanding of employer expectations such as getting to work on time, making a useful contribution to their team and being enthusiastic about the work that they have been asked to carry out.
Year 12 Students – June
As part of the Post-16 Study Programme, it is essential that all students participate in work experience. Work experience forms a vital component of the Sixth Form curriculum and take place at the end of June. If you can offer students a valuable opportunity to develop key employability skills and enhance their appeal to future employers please get in touch with a.spurrier@jths.co.uk.
