The UKMT is an organisation that promotes maths across the country.  Amongst other things it runs maths challenges where students are given a series of maths problems to solve.  Students at John Taylor have entered these challenges and done extremely well.  Earlier in the year students took part in both the Senior mathematics challenge and in the Girls Olympiad.  Some year 10 students took part in the Intermediate maths challenge last term. Jake achieved Gold and got through to the next round. Ross, Alice and Josh achieved Silver.  Michael, Lucy and Quinn achieved Bronze. Well done to all those who took part.

This term some students in year 8 took part in the junior mathematics challenge.  Congratulations go to all who took part.  Dexter and  Daisy both achieved Gold and got through to the next round. Alexia, Dylan, Amelia, Jacob, Edward and Flynn also all achieved Gold.  Ameen, Jacob, Isla, Ava, Noah, Leila, Eli, Amira, Freddie, Jack, Nathaniel, William, Evie and Thomas all achieved Silver.  Jack, Connie, Ffion, Harry, Sophie, Lauren, Ewan, Daniella, Thomas, Isla, Zachai, Sam, Eleanor, Angus, Junior, Liberty, Harry, Amy, Nathan, Hamish, Haleema, Noah, Rabia and Elsie all achieved Bronze.  Well done to all those who participated.

Look out for results in October after we take part in the Girls Olympiad and the Senior maths challenge 2025.
