On Saturday 28th March, 45 adventurous pupils embarked on the much-anticipated ski trip to Alpendorf, Austria. The group of Year 9 pupils were accompanied by Mr Williams, Mr Hulley, Mr Simmons, Miss Senior and Miss Archer.
After a long 24 hours on the coach, the group arrived at Hotel Josef where pupils were greeted before completing the Ski Fit sessions and split into groups. The teachers were incredibly impressed with everyone and noted how it was ‘a joy to see pupils progress throughout the week at the tremendous Ski Amade Resort, developing a range of skills they wouldn’t normally use day-to-day.’
Mr Williams said ‘each pupil embraced the tasks that they were set each day, they showed punctuality, organisational skills and maturity in several areas. They were exceptionally well behaved and were a real credit to themselves, their families and the school. The trip was more than just skiing. It was about building friendships and creating unforgettable memories. When we weren’t on the slopes, pupils tasted local Austrian cuisine (including some delicious Gelato), played billiards, enjoyed a pizza night and took part in our awards evenings with a disco and karaoke. The supportive nature between North 47, who facilitate the trip, our teachers and pupils, created a great atmosphere and an incredibly memorable trip.’
