Dear Parents/Carers,
John Taylor High School will be holding Non-Uniform Days on the following dates:
- Year 7 and Year 11 – Tuesday 17th March 2026
- Year 8 and Year 10 – Wednesday 18th March 2026
- Year 9 – Thursday 19th March 2026
All pupils will be shown the below presentation on Monday 16th March during Personal Development.
Donations can be made through cash on the day or via ParentPay. On their allocated day, students are invited to come to school wearing their own clothes instead of school uniform. Students are asked to make a voluntary donation of £1 to participate and support the school community’s efforts in fundraising which will be split between Kids Village (Home – Kids’ Village) and the schools bid for our astro turf pitch.
This event is intended to be enjoyable for students while still maintaining our school values of Respect, Kindness, Integrity and Perseverance. To ensure the day runs smoothly, we ask for your support in making sure that:
- Clothing is appropriate for a school setting – no crop top or ripped jeans
- Does not display offensive language, images, or slogans
- Does not reflect any political views
- Allows pupils to participate fully and safely in lessons
- Footwear should remain practical and safe for movement around the school. (No open toes or crocs)
- Jewellery worn must not exceed one pair of plain studs in the ears and a wristwatch
- Fancy dress is NOT considered as appropriate
- Clothing should not have a theme or message that could be interpreted or cause discomfort among other pupils
Students will need to bring their usual school equipment/bag for the day as lessons will remain unchanged. This is particularly important for those that need to remember their bus pass for travel to and from school.
If clothing is deemed inappropriate, pupils will be required to change or wear spare uniform provided by the school in order to attend lessons. Any decision made by the school regarding appropriate clothing will be final.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to an enjoyable and successful Non-Uniform Day for all students.
