There are currently 85 people on The Bar-Tones Community Choir register with additional non-singing members bringing our membership to over 100 people. Part of the charitable work undertaken by Barton Music Makers is to support young local musicians develop their skills by funding music lessons through our Bursary scheme.
Last October we awarded four students at John Taylor High School with £300 each. All funds are raised by our concerts (including Live and Local events) and other fundraising initiatives.
We also support The One-Handed Musical Instrument Trust [OHMI] and have given this charity over £10,000 for adapted instruments and equipment since 2018.
If you have a child who attends JTHS and would like to apply for a bursary, please contact Mr. C. Roxburgh to obtain a copy of the form. All applications must be submitted by Friday 10th July via email to Dr Taylor (drswtaylor@btinternet.com) and Mr Roxburgh (c.roxburgh@jths.co.uk).
The 2026 Summer Concert entitled Musical Travels: A World Tour! takes place in Barton Village Hall on Saturday, 11th July from 7.30pm.
