We are delighted to share that our pupils have achieved recognition in this year’s Raspberry Pi Competition, a national event with over 400 schools across the country competing. The judges highly commended our team’s project, praising their innovation, teamwork and real-world problem-solving.
This year’s challenge inspired students to develop a solution using Raspberry Pi technology. Our team focused on energy efficiency and sustainability, producing a project that combined coding, environmental awareness and practical application.
The students reflected on the valuable skills they gained through the process:
“We learnt valuable coding and presentation skills, we learnt to use Thunderbird and a Raspberry Pi computer. We also learnt about the importance of load shifting to help keep energy costs down.”
The judges were equally impressed, stating:
“You have touched upon a really interesting topic with real-world benefit—something that people are actively looking at across the world. It is clear that you all took an active part in the project. Well done to you all.”
This recognition is a testament to the pupils’ hard work, critical thinking and teamwork. They represented our school with pride and demonstrated a strong grasp of technology and global issues.
