Assessment Feedback
All students in years 7 – 10 have completed their first assessments of the year. Following these assessments, students have received a list of topics highlighting their areas of strength and for development, including a list of online resources available to aid independent work at home. By way of encouraging engagement with this and to boost independent work away from the classroom, parents/carers should also have received a copy of this feedback via email – feedback has been sent to the two highest-priority email addresses we have registered for each student. The email will appear from a generic ‘Mathematics Department’ email address – this email address is not monitored so the email should not be directly replied to; please follow the directions within the email should you wish to speak with your child’s maths teacher.
Following the recent Year 11 trial papers students, parents/carers will also receive similar feedback before Christmas so please monitor your emails for this feedback to support your child make the progress in the final few months of their secondary education.
Homework
All students in years 7 – 11 are signed up to our online homework platform – sparxmaths.com. Homework using Sparx is weekly and will be automatically tailored to students to ensure they can be both successful but also challenged. For each question asked, students will have the opportunity to watch a ‘how to’ video should they need any reminding. Whilst most students are accessing this site and completing some homework, there is still improvement that could be made. Please support in ensuring all students complete their weekly set tasks as greater levels of completion correlate positively to making better progress.
