Lower School WhatsApp Groups – Parents and Carers
The school has been made aware of WhatsApp group chats, some of which include the entirety of a teaching or year group. Whilst not affiliated with the school in any way, concerns have been shared with us around the content, including comments and language used in these group chats.
Unfortunately, due to usernames being different to the names of our students, we are unable to identify who is making these comments.
Please can we ask parents/carers to be aware of the following:
- WhatsApp has a minimum age for users of 13.
- Check your child’s mobile phone and devices for participation/being a member of large group chats. Should this be found to be the case, remove them from the group and block it.
- Should you find any content of concern, please use the ‘REPORT HARMFUL CONTENT’ link on the school’s website. Report Harmful Content – John Taylor High School . This will help and support in getting it removed.
