Homework
All students in KS3 and KS4 should now be receiving weekly homework in maths. Maths homework is set using the online platform, Sparx.
To access Sparx, students will need to use their school Microsoft log-in details (the same which used for Class Charts, Go, email etc.)
The aim each week is for students to gain 100% – as the weeks go on, Sparx will automatically tailor the difficulty of the maths each student gets.
Personal Practice & Independent Learning
In addition to homework, Sparx can be used for independent practise.
Students can:
•re-do skills covered in previous homework (chosen by Sparx) but using Personal Practice
•choose their own skills by using Independent Learning
Help – A student’s first port-of-call should always be their teacher
The Sparx package allows students to receive hints, tips, examples, videos and, new for this year, will break questions down if a student’s answer is incorrect.
Sparx will also incorporate flashcard-type question to support students remember basic skills and facts needed throughout the curriculum
