We are delighted to announce that John Taylor High School is taking part in BookTrust’s annual BookBuzz scheme which aims to get young people reading by offering them a free reading book. Year 7 pupils will be able to choose one of the sixteen titles, carefully selected by the BookTrust charity, showcasing both new and established writers across a range of genres.
Next week, all Year 7 pupils will receive a BookBuzz order card to fill in and make their choice. To help our pupils within their selection, the BookTrust have made a short fifteen-minute video providing details of all sixteen BookBuzz titles, featuring each author championing their own book. Year 7 pupils must make their choice by Friday 2nd October 2026. We expect our BookBuzz books to be delivered in December, ready for distribution in time for the Christmas break.
Bookbuzz aims to encourage young people to read more frequently, which will help improve their wellbeing, spark interesting conversations and inspire creativity. You can find more information on the Booktrust website – Bookbuzz Secondary | BookTrust
