Following our previous communication, here is some Additional Information for clarification
Additional Information sent on 22/05/26 for clarification
Following the release of Uniform changes from September 2026, we would like to respond to feedback and provide clarity around some points and questions raised by parents/carers.
Current Y10 into Y11 : Students in this year group will continue to wear their current upper school ties so a new style tie will not need to be purchased. If a replacement is required during the academic year 2026/27 a new style tie can be purchased.
Current Y7, 8, 9 and new students : All students currently in Year 7,8, 9 and those joining us from Y6 in September will require the new style tie.
Current Y7 –Y10 PE Kit : All current students will be able to wear their current PE kit and do not need to purchase new items. Any PE Kit items needing to be replaced following this due to sizing etc. should be in line with the new guidance. Rugby shorts will be an optional element of the PE Kit.
Items of uniform no longer permitted
Skorts – to confirm, as of Sept 2026 skorts are no longer permitted at the school. Any student who currently wears a skort for PE will need this to be replaced with shorts ready for the start of the new academic year Sept 2026. It is advised to buy plain navy shorts in line with the new guidance to prevent having to rebuy.

The below was sent on 15/06/26
We are writing to inform you of updated statutory guidance from the Department for Education (DfE) regarding school uniforms. This guidance becomes statutory from September 2026 and applies to all schools in England. It is designed to ensure that school uniform policies are fair, reasonable, and offer the best value for families.
Following a review of the current uniform policy and expectations, changes are required to ensure we are fully compliant with this guidance and continue to support our students’ sense of identity, pride, and belonging.
For current students across Y7 to Y10, there will be limited impact, however the following will need to be considered to ensure that student’s uniform is compliant from Sept 2026:
- Tie – All current students will need to have a new style tie. These are available from our uniform providers.
- PE – Skorts are no longer permitted and must not be worn. All students will wear plain blue shorts for PE lessons.
Please see below for details of the Uniform and PE kit guidance, along with clear identification (in red) of the key changes to support your uniform purchases prior to September:
