The JTHS core values are at the heart of our school community, so Mr Blanchenot was thrilled to hear that Lily, Ryan, Malachy, Kiylan, Hei and Reuben had demonstrated respect, integrity, kindness and perseverance in their day-to-day school life.

Lily A in Year 12 was nominated for her dedication to her leadership course with the Rotary Club, supporting the House Leaders and always having a positive attitude.

Ryan B in Year 12 and Malachy L in Year 11 were both nominated for being kind and helpful with SEND lunch clubs for younger students, facilitating game playing, encouraging others to take part and being helpful with the SEND Department.

Kiylan W in Year 7 was nominated for the value of Perseverance.  Kiylan never complains and is always kind, polite and helpful.  Kiylan has developed independent ways of problem solving and is extraordinarily resilient.

Hei T in Year 11 was nominated for always being kind, polite and hard working.

Reuben M in Year 8 was nominated for the value of Kindness.  Reuben is always kind and considerate with all members of the school community.

Vinnie F in Year 7 was nominated for showing kindness and supporting other pupils that are unfamiliar with the school environment. Vinnie has also shown perseverance to achieve personal excellence in his lessons.

Mr Blanchenot commented how these small choices made by these pupils have helped to create a supportive and kinder environment for everyone and thanked them for being role models within the school community. Mrs Buckland, who nominated the pupils, joined the group at ‘Hot Chocolate with the Head’ and said ‘thank you to each one of you, not only do you go above and beyond helping peers, but you always make a real effort to help the staff members too. Your kindness does not go unnoticed. Thank you and well done to you all.’
