Throughout the month of June, each form in Year 7 pupils have shown their generosity by raising money by carrying out a number of activities.
Between them they have managed to raise a remarkable £865.02 for St.Giles Hospice.

Mr Markwell, Head of Year 7, commented ‘we are delighted with how many pupils have got behind the ‘generous June’ initiative. Many have taken time out of their evening and weekend to fundraise and I am extremely proud of how they have gone over and above. The pupils have shown kindness, respect, perseverance and integrity in abundance.’
On Thursday 10th July, there was a special assembly to recognise these individuals.
Here is Freya’s story, written by Freya’s parent. ‘Freya raised £110. She organised a ‘cake by order’ sale, producing flyers for the length of our street with options including flapjack, chocolate chip brownie and carrot cake. She received 13 orders and had a busy Thursday evening baking, which she then delivered by hand in labelled boxes on Friday evening. One neighbour declined the cakes but still gave a £10 for her efforts. We’re very proud and know you will be too. This is all whilst fundraising for her scouts group who go to Kandersteg in Switzerland next year by coordinating a sponsored walk.’
Here’s Mya’s story. ‘Mya raised £58.08 after completing numerous good deeds for her friends and family, which included helping her Nan take care of her chickens. Not only did this help raise money, but Mya thoroughly enjoyed taking on these tasks and showed kindness in abundance.’
