On Tuesday 10th March, Miss Senior and her team of Sporting Young Ambassadors welcomed over 20 local residents to the school, in a heartwarming display of community spirit for the Spring Community Afternoon Tea.
The guests were warmly welcomed on arrival by our pupils which set a cheerful tone for the event. They offered delicious cakes and refreshments and helped create a lovely atmosphere. Miss Senior commented, ‘it was wonderful to see the kind conversations between our pupils and the community guests. The pupils were fully engaged, asking questions and responding thoughtfully as they talked with the visitors. What made it special was everyone’s polite manners and maturity. The guests enjoyed the company and the pupils practiced good communication and teamwork skills throughout the event.’
Miss Senior wanted to give a special thank you to Viktoria T and Hugo E in Year 13 for playing the piano throughout the afternoon and to Esme I and Ava F in Year 9 who sang a selection of songs so beautifully. The guests were blown-away by the musical talent of our pupils and gave a huge round of applause at the end.
Before the event finished, there was one last activity for the guests to get involved in… an Easter Egg Hunt! It was great to see the enthusiasm and friendly competition between the guests as they followed clues around the hall to find the chocolate goodies.
The guests left with a bunch of flowers and a smile on their face and were extremely grateful for the kindness they had received from our pupils, who represented the school wonderfully.
Our next Community Afternoon Tea will place on 9th June in the Summer.
