Sixth Form residential to Edale, Peak District for both Year 13 and 12 students that will take place from Friday 13th of March to Sunday 15th of March 2026.
Will plan to leave school at approximately 1.30pm on Friday the 13th and return to school at approximately 2pm on Sunday 15th. We will travel by coach to Edale Valley where will stay in in YHA Edale Activity Centre, accommodation will be provided on a full board basis.
Over the course of the weekend students will be able to take part in a variety of outdoor activities which may include orienteering, caving, team building, abseiling, night hiking and weaselling. The first activities will take place on Friday evening before a full day, and evening, of activities on the Saturday, we will do a final activity on Sunday morning before travelling back by coach at approximately midday on the Sunday. All activities will be led by trained instructors, some of them will take place at YHA Edale Activity centre with others taking place off site in Edale Valley and the surrounding area (transport will be provided for activities taking place off site).
The cost of this visit will be £230 per student which includes coach travel, 2 nights’ full board accommodation and all instructor led activities.
If your son/daughter would like to secure a place on the Sixth Form residential, I would request that you provide consent and pay a deposit of £50 by the 20th November via ParentPay, the remaining balance will need to be paid by Friday 9th January 2026. If your son/daughter is in receipt of the 16-19 Bursary you will only need to provide consent to attend as the cost of the trip can be covered by the Bursary fund.
For the residential to take place we need a minimum of 40 students to attend. If we exceed this number, then the names of those students who have paid the deposit will go into a hat, and places allocated on this basis, deposits of those unsuccessful will be returned. A reserve list will be put in place, if required.
I must also inform you, that that once places have been allocated and deposits paid, should your son/daughter withdraw from the visit for any reason, then you are still responsible for the full cost of the visit should we be unable to fill their place.
