Thank you to our Sporting Young Ambassadors who volunteered to deliver Christmas gifts to our local elderly residents in the community. This is an initiative, led by Miss Senior, which aims to put a smile on the residents’ face, who may feel lonely or isolated at Christmas time.
The group of students delivered over 20 gift packs of festive shortbread, mindfulness & puzzle books, a handmade bauble and a teabag. Thank you to Mrs Smith in Food Tech for baking all the delicious Christmas shortbreads and to the Art Department and the students for decorating the Christmas Baubles!
It was wonderful to see our pupils interact so lovely with the residents and show them kindness, integrity and respect, which in turn gave our pupils that real feel-good-factor. The residents were overwhelmed with the kindness of our students and were grateful to be thought of at this time of year. Even spending a couple of minutes chatting with them at their doorstep made their day.
Well done to everyone involved, you should be really proud of yourself for making a difference this Christmas time.
