It’s been a pleasure this half term to invite local primary schools to take part in a dance workshop on Thursday 16th October and football workshop on Tuesday 21st October.
Spearheaded by Miss Senior, Teacher of PE and delivered by JTHS students, the workshops aim to build confidence in the younger pupils, encourage them to learn to new skills and to promote an active and healthy lifestyle.
Both sessions began with a warmup and the younger pupils were split into groups. The JTHS students were fantastic leaders and showed kindness, respect and perseverance towards the primary pupils as they learnt new dance techniques and unlocked new football skills.
As the workshops progressed, so did the primary pupil’s confidence. Their enthusiasm was unmatched and they all had a fantastic time. To finish, the groups performed their dance routines and the young footballers played some matches. There was a real sense of accomplishment from both secondary & primary pupils and it was great to see the interactions between the groups.
