We recently shared that our Year 9s got the opportunity to participate in a workshop with artist Mahtab Hussain to explore their thoughts, ideas and creativity around the topic of the Forgotton Army who fought during World War II. You can read more here about the project.
Here is an update of how the project is progressing from Miss Evans, Head of Faculty for Art. ‘ A group of talented year 9 artists have been working on the project with International Artist Mahtab Hussain and Benny Semp. Benny recently visited the group and encouraged our learners to think about themes (identity, unity, remembrance, belonging, sacrifice). Learners discussed their poster concepts with great appreciation of the projects aims. Art work submitted will be on display at the NMA in December.
