On Monday, 15 December, Family Voices Forum volunteers were welcomed to school by Mr Blanchenot, Headteacher, and Sarah Ermoyenous, Parent Governor, who is leading this initiative.
The Family Voices Forum comprises 10 parents/carers and was created to strengthen the partnership between families and the school by providing a dedicated space for open conversation, shared ideas, and collaborative problem-solving.
At our first meeting, the focus was on getting to know each other, explaining why the forum was established, clarifying its aims and expectations, and identifying key topics for future meetings. These objectives will help ensure the forum reflects the priorities and concerns of parents/carers and the school community.
Sarah said, “The volunteers have hit the ground running by helping the school understand which topics they’d like it to discuss in 2026, such as pastoral and SEND support as well as parental support for study skills and revision.”
“Mr Blanchenot also tasked us with suggesting ideas for how we provide additional support to students at key transition points, such as moving from primary to high school and preparing for GCSEs.”
Mr Blanchenot added, “I want to thank the parents and carers who volunteered to be part of this forum. Everyone contributed and offered fresh perspectives, and we’ve already developed a list of great ideas to review with my team. I look forward to this partnership going from strength to strength in 2026.”
