This year’s Christmas Community Afternoon Tea was yet again a huge success. Over 30 local residents joined our Sporting Young Ambassadors for an afternoon of delicious cake, hot drinks and Christmas fun.
Miss Senior, Sports and Community Ambassador Co-ordinator, who organised the event said ‘this is the first Community Tea I have had the pleasure to run and I was blown away by not only the incredible guests, but our fantastic Sporting Young Ambassadors who took an active role in welcoming, signing in, serving refreshments, playing games & instruments and chatting to the guests which created a relaxed atmosphere for everyone. Community events like these are incredibly important, particularly at this time of year where our local elderly residents may need additional companionship.’

Aside from all the delicious cake, the guests thoroughly enjoyed a game of Christmas bingo with prizes to win. It was a lovely touch which brought laughter and excitement to the afternoon. As the event came to an end our guests were presented with cake to take home, gift-wrapped sweets, and a free ticket to our upcoming Christmas Concert. The guests were blown away with the kindness they’d received throughout the afternoon and were extremely thankful to have been invited. Thank you to everyone who has been involved in making the event come to life, it was a wonderful way to begin the festivities.

Miss Senior, has a host of activities planned with the Sporting Young Ambassadors throughout the year, including Christmas deliveries, primary school events and volunteering opportunities which underpin our ‘one community’ ethos. We look forward to welcoming back our local residents to the next Community Tea, which will take place in Spring.
