We were delighted to welcome a group of 12 & 13 year old pupils from our partner school Gesamtschule Muecke near Giessen, in Germany.
During their time here they joined lessons with our Year 8 & 9 pupils, took part in cultural comparisons of German and English school routines and classroom life, visited key areas of the school and explored different topics.
Pupils from John Taylor High School and Gesamtschule Muecke shared perspectives, practiced language skills, and built friendships that fostered global awareness and respect. During lunch, the pupils took part in a collaborative art project using their hand prints around painted flags which encouraged great interactions and conversations between both sets of pupils.
Mrs Brooks, MFL Teacher, who facilitated the trip said ‘this experience has been invaluable for both sets of pupils who have shown mutual kindness, respect and integrity whilst displaying some incredible language skills along the way. We really hope the pupils from Gesamtschule Muecke enjoyed their time with us John Taylor High School.’
We would like to say thank you to the group for their kind messages and gifts to the school and to Mr Blanchenot.
