It was a pleasure for Mr Blanchenot to meet with students in Year 7 who have been nominated by Mrs Buckland, for showing the school’s core values within the first term of them being at John Taylor High School.

Myles W and Florence H were nominated for showing great perseverance. Myles and Florence continue to strive for personal excellence every single day and tackle challenges head-on without giving up. Mrs Buckland said ‘I am delighted that Myles and Florence are being recognised by Mr Blanchenot. Their perseverance both inside the classroom and during social time is admirable. Well done to you both.’
Vinnie F and Noah W were nominated for displaying an incredible amount of kindness to their fellow peers. Vinnie particularly stood out when he helped other Year 7s during the first few weeks of school, who had been used to smaller school environments. Mrs Buckland said ‘Vinnie has worked really hard in all aspects of his school life and I am thrilled to see his kindness shine through.’ Mrs Buckland said ‘Noah is the epitome of this core value and goes above and beyond to make sure other students are supported if they are upset or need someone to talk to. Noah is very intuitive and he has been very helpful throughout this term in signposting students to get the right support. Noah is a kind and caring pupil and a fantastic role model to have within our school community.’
Mr Blanchenot was delighted to get to know these pupils more, as they tucked into their chocolate goodies. He particularly enjoyed the lively discussion about what the ultimate top five Christmas films are and may be changing his list after afew recommendations from Florence and Noah!
