Today at Hot Chocolate with the Head, Mr Blanchenot enjoyed speaking to Emilia B in Year 10 about her achievements within netball. Emilia was nominated by Mr Williams after being selected for the County Netball Squad to play against Cheshire. Mr Williams said ‘this is a great achievement for Emilia; out of a squad of twenty players, Emilia was one of ten who made the team’. During Hot Chocolate with the Head, Emilia spoke passionately about her love for netball and her future aspirations within the sport.
Chloe P, Issy H, Verity B and Max A in Year 12 were nominated by Miss Platts for representing JTHS at the Lichfield School Speaking Competition, on the topic of Immigration. The JTHS team competed against several other schools from the local area putting forward their well-researched, persuasive and thought-provoking speeches. Miss Platts commented ‘how impressed she was with the team as they spoke confidently in front of a panel of judges. They showed maturity and nuance in their arguments and it was a pleasure to be part of’.
Ethan F, Phoebe W, Jenson M, Tallulah B, Kalyan M, Isabella E in Year 10 were nominated by Miss Dean and Mr Forden for participating in a national research project. The group played in a key role in answering questions by a University Researcher that will impact their future. The topics included changes to the national voting age. Mr Forden said ‘the students represented the school exceptionally well and are an absolute credit to our community’.
