Hot Chocolate with the Head celebrated a variety of pupil achievements this week, including impressive work experience feedback, fantastic poetry skills and success in a communications project.
Lauren, Eli and Jonathan in Year 10 and Alexander in Year 11 were nominated by Mrs Craddock for taking part in the UK Police Memorial Poetry Project, at the National Memorial Arboretum. Mrs Craddock said ‘having the opportunity to work alongside a real working poet was amazing, as was the tour of the arboretum. I am incredibly proud that our pupils’ audio poems will be played on the listening stations around the Police Memorial until November. These students were incredible ambassadors for the school and the English Department. They were an absolute joy to spend time with.’ Read more here about the tasks the pupils were involved in and the project. Well done to you all!
Holly and Olivia in Year 13 were nominated by Mr Legood for their work on a comprehensive communications project for the Staffordshire Schools Multi-Academy Trust. The Sixth Form students were tasked with creating and managing a social media plan for the trust and had to present their findings to the CEO of the Trust. The students worked incredibly hard putting their business knowledge, strategy, creativity and presentation skills into practice. We hope Holly and Olivia gained some valuable experience for their post-18 pathway. Well done to you both.
Joe in Year 13 was nominated by Mr Craven, Chief Operating Office at Onionio, for a genuinely strong impression on their Senior Management Team and exceeding every expectation throughout his work experience. Onionio are a cyber security and AI governance consultancy company and Joe was incredibly excited to develop his skills in an industry he has a keen interest in and passion in. Well done Joe for representing the school in such a professional manner and showing our school’s core values out in the workplace.
