This week’s ‘Hot Chocolate with the Head’ celebrated some incredible sporting successes, and as a PE teacher, Mr Blanchenot was right at home!
Firstly, our U16 Netball team shared with the group how they had taken the title of County Champions after a tough final against Denstone College, winning 8-6. It has been a long time since our U16 team have taken this title and will now represent the West Midlands in the Regional competition. Miss Senior and Miss O’Brien said ‘we are incredibly proud of their determination and perseverance in this tournament. The team were complimented by many umpires on their talent and teamwork.’ Congratulations to Connie, Amelie, Bethan, Rosie, Lorelai, Emily, Issy and Emilia.
Next to share their story was George in Year 8 who had been nominated by Mr Markwell for finishing third overall in the AMCA British Championship. The AMCA British Championship is a prestigious motocross event and a great stepping stone for upcoming talented riders. George explained that he travelled all over the UK to compete and managed to race his way into the top 3 in the league table. George also has two sponsors and is part of an academy where he’s travelled to Spain and the Netherlands too. Well done George, we’re excited to see how you progress in the coming years within Motorcross.

Well done to all these sporting stars. If you would like to nominate a pupil for ‘Hot Chocolate with the Head’ please email a.letren@jths.co.uk
