Today’s ‘Hot Chocolate with the Head’ celebrated four-star students who had been nominated for showing perseverance in sport.

Emilia in Year 10 and Scarlett in Year 8 shared their impressive triumphs within the world of netball with Mr Blanchenot at break-time today. Emilia who plays WD has been selected to play for Staffordshire County Netball U15s team and Scarlett has been successful for another year running playing in the County Netball Squad as GA. Emily in Year 10 had also been nominated for her selection in the U15s County team, but unable to attend the celebration today.

The pupil’s had participated in highly competitive county trials, demonstrating their skill, commitment and teamwork on the court. The girls agreed that despite the many hours of training each week for both their local club and county team, they took immense pride to be playing with like-minded elite players and are excited for the upcoming tournaments.

Next to share her achievement was Grace in Year 8, an accomplished equestrian who recently competed in the National School Equestrian Games Eventing Championship. Grace’s brilliant performance earned her fifth place highlighting her dedication and expertise in equestrian sports. Grace shared with the group that the competition comprised of 3 areas; dressage, show-jumping & cross-country, with dressage being the most challenging for Grace and cross-country being her favourite part of the competition.

Mr Blanchenot was impressed with the achievements and commented ‘it is great to see how these students are demonstrating our school’s core value of ‘perseverance’ outside of the classroom. Thank you for being role models within the school community and striving for personal excellence.’
