Celebration: Head Students/House Leaders/Student Inclusion Team 2026-27

This week saw the formal handover from the 2025-2026 cohort of Head Students, House Leaders and Student Inclusion Team Leaders to the 2026-2027 cohort.

Not long after Christmas, Year 12 students are invited to apply to be either House Leaders or Student Inclusion Team Leaders. They can also ask to be considered for one of our five Head Student Roles.

Students must write a letter of application to Mrs Bonnett and Mr Brackstone stating which of the four committees they would like to sit on.  These committees are Academic and Mentoring, Extra- Curricular and Events, Charities and Community and Well- Being. They then take part in a group interview where they are asked questions and given a task to complete. These interviews are led by the Year 13 House Leaders, with Mrs Bonnett and Mr Brackstone in attendance.

Successful candidates are offered one of the sixteen House Leader roles or the eight Student Inclusion Team Leader roles, and some are invited to produce a presentation explaining why they would make an excellent Head Student, and what they would do during their time as Head Student if they were successful. From these presentations the five head Students are chosen, one for each House and one for the Student Inclusion Team.

We had a record number of applicants this year, all of whom were of a very high standard, and for that reason we decided to extend this year’s team to twenty House Leaders.
