Many students spend time looking for healthcare experience because they know universities expect it.

However, the students who build the strongest applications are not necessarily those who complete the most work experience. They are the students who can clearly explain what they learned, how their understanding of healthcare developed, and why those experiences confirmed their motivation to pursue a healthcare career.

Universities are looking for evidence of insight, reflection, communication skills, teamwork, professionalism, and an understanding of patient-centred care. Meaningful healthcare experience provides the opportunity to develop all of these qualities.

To help you gain this insight, we invite your students to attend our NHS Allied Healthcare Virtual Work Experience Programme on Sunday 5th July.

Register here: https://alliedhealthmentor.org/product/live-virtual-work-experience-programme/

Throughout the programme, your students will follow realistic patient journeys and gain a deeper understanding of how healthcare professionals work together to support patients across a range of clinical settings.

Your students will explore careers including:
• Nursing
• Midwifery
• Paramedicine
• Physiotherapy
• Occupational Therapy
• Dietetics
• Radiography
• Speech and Language Therapy
• Prosthetics and Orthotics
• Pharmacy

As well as exploring these careers, your students will begin developing the insight that universities are looking for when assessing future healthcare professionals.

Your students will learn:
• How multidisciplinary healthcare teams work together
• The skills and qualities required in healthcare careers
• How professionals communicate with patients and colleagues
• How patient-centred care influences decision-making
• How to reflect on healthcare experiences effectively

These are the experiences and reflections that can help strengthen future personal statements, university interviews, and healthcare applications.

Students who attend will receive a Certificate of Attendance and gain valuable experience that demonstrates their commitment to exploring healthcare careers.
