As students begin planning for the next stage of their university applications, developing a realistic understanding of patient care remains one of the most valuable ways to strengthen their insight into healthcare professions.

We are pleased to announce that the next rotation of our NHS Allied Healthcare Virtual Work Experience Programme is now available, focusing on Geriatrics & Recovery.

Registration: https://alliedhealthmentor.org/product/live-virtual-work-experience-programme/

Older adults account for a significant proportion of NHS patient care, often requiring support from a wide range of healthcare professionals working together to manage complex physical, cognitive and social needs.

Throughout this live virtual programme, students will follow realistic patient journeys, exploring how multidisciplinary teams work collaboratively to support recovery, rehabilitation and long-term independence.

Students will gain insight into careers including:
• Nursing
• Midwifery
• Paramedicine
• Physiotherapy
• Occupational Therapy
• Dietetics
• Radiography
• Speech and Language Therapy
• Prosthetics and Orthotics
• Pharmacy

During the session, students will develop a greater understanding of:
• The challenges associated with caring for an ageing population
• How rehabilitation supports recovery following illness or injury
• The importance of multidisciplinary teamwork within the NHS
• Communication with patients, families and healthcare professionals
• The skills, values and behaviours required across allied healthcare professions

The programme is designed to help students build meaningful healthcare insight that can support future personal statements, university interviews and career decision-making.

Students who attend will also receive a Certificate of Attendance as evidence of their commitment to exploring healthcare careers.
