We are getting in touch to let you know about an exciting opportunity for your students. Applications for our online King’s College London Medicine and Dentistry Lecture Series 2026 are now open! We have supported over 10,000 students since we introduced our free programme four years ago (see our testimonies below).
This programme is for students across the UK in Year 11, 12, and 13 interested in becoming a doctor or dentist. Please circulate this opportunity to students who you think will be interested.
Over the course of theprogramme students will hear from a wide variety of speakers to help build their understanding of the opportunities and challenges of being a doctor and dentist, as well as guidance on the application process. Last year’s lectures included the following:
· Medical and dental specialties: cardiology, oral surgery, renal transplant, and many more!
· Q&A’s each week with current medical and dental students
· Support with the application process: UCAT, personal statements, and interviews
· Q&A with admissions colleagues from King’s various universities
Most importantly participants will become part of a community of like-minded students all interested in applying to medicine and dentistry and finding out what being a doctor and dentist really entails!
Lectures will be held on Tuesday or Friday evenings between 5:00 – 6:30pm. Our first lecture will be on Tuesday 24th March 5pm.
For more information and to apply, students should follow this link. The deadline is Monday 9th February 2pm.
Here’s what students had to say about the 2025 programme:
· Milly from Bristol: “I never realised how many different specialities there were in dentistry and I really enjoyed seeing that even if you aren’t sure what you want to do yet there is always time to decide and find a career you will always be interested in.”
· Adea from London: “The lecture emphasized the importance of prosthodontics in restoring both function and aesthetics through crowns, bridges, dentures, and implants. A key takeaway was the role of precision and occlusion in ensuring that prosthetic devices fit comfortably and do not disrupt a patient’s bite. At the end of the session, I also was able to get an insight into how life changing it can be for a patient to be treated.”
· Megan from West Midlands: “I absolutely loved the session today. Chichi’s enthusiasm for the career was really refreshing to see and just inspired me to keep working hard and learning so in the future I can be the best doctor possible and so I can be able to adapt to different circumstances: having confidence to respond to trauma situations well and keeping the patients (BIG P’s) as my main priority as everything I do will have a vast impact on their lives.”
To be eligible for the programme students must be currently attending a state school. If the school is non-selective then students are automatically eligible to take part in the programme. For students studying at a state selective school, they must meet one of our widening participation criteria. For full details, please see the application form.
I hope to see lots of your students there! Our application form can be found here. If you have any questions about the programme, do get in touch.
Best wishes,
Social Mobility & Widening Participation Senior Officer
