From Monday 1st December – Friday 5th December, our Year 10 cohort got the opportunity to embark on a 5-day work experience that they organised through parents, carers and family friends. The main objective was for them to gain skills, knowledge and experience of the working day, as well as developing their understanding of employer expectations such as getting to work on time, making a useful contribution to their team and being enthusiastic about the work that they have been asked to carry out.
Well done to all our students who secured some fantastic opportunities, here are a handful of local and national companies where our students have been placed:
This is the first time that students have been required to complete a full 5-days. Many students loved the variety of jobs they were exposed to and will be required to complete a log of what they learnt, when back in the classroom. For those pupils who were unable to secure a placement, Miss Spurrier, Work Related Co-Ordinator and Mrs Ball, CEIAG, provided those students with the opportunity to visit local businesses to gain insight into the many roles within a company. These included Tippers, Hoar Cross Hall Spa & Hotel and Burton College.
