Today, we were thrilled to host our annual Careers Fair, welcoming over 30 exhibitors from both local and national organisations. Students met directly with potential employers, educational institutions and training providers. This showcase gave pupils with an array of career pathways across numerous industries, offering valuable insights into their potential future careers.

To ensure students made the most of this unique opportunity, each participant received a detailed guide before the event. Understanding that many pupils were attending a career fair for the first time, the handbook included strategic questions to facilitate meaningful conversations with exhibitors. These thoughtfully prepared questions covered topics such as apprenticeship benefits, earning potential, university education advantages, available bursaries, desired applicant qualities, experience and various company roles. This structured approach helped students engage confidently with professionals and gather essential information about their prospective career paths. Pupils could also receive stamps from the organisations, which put them in a prize-draw!

Miss Spurrier, Work-Related Learning Co-ordinator, reflected on the day, sharing: “It has been a truly fantastic experience for all our Year 7 to 10 and 12 students. The event inspired thoughtful questions and meaningful interactions between students and employers, which I believe proved valuable for everyone involved. We received excellent feedback from our exhibitors, who were genuinely impressed with the calibre of questions and the enthusiasm displayed by our students. My sincere thanks go to all the exhibitors for supporting our careers fair, and congratulations to our students for representing the school with such distinction.”
